It was another busy week! As the weather is getting warmer please send in water bottles with the kids so they can stay hydrated during the school day. Also, I understand that the end of the school year is quickly approaching and the kids are getting excited about summer. However, we do still have objectives to learn. Please remind your child of the importance of listening to the directions and working to their fullest potential.
Our field trip is this coming Thursday, May 25th. I sent home important information last Thursday and sent an email with the same information. Please be sure to read over the note or email so you can be informed about the field trip.
During our language arts block we have been working on persuasive writing. We read a lot of fun books that helped the students understand the art of persuasion. We did start brainstorming for our persuasive writing and we will continue to write our rough draft and final copy next week. We will also continue working in reading groups. Please make sure the students are reading at home. Raz-Kids is a great way to practice reading in addition to the guided reading books that are sent home.
This week in math we practiced surveying, making tally charts, bar graphs and pictographs. We will continue collecting data next week and work on making some more graphs. The kids are getting really good at asking questions and analyzing data!
During our social studies time this week we started discussing Long Ago and Today. We will continue discussing Long ago and Today next week.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
