Glenkirk Elementary School Counseling Program Vision
Our Glenkirk Golden Knights are inclusive, proactive, determined and are able to set and meet goals and achieve high academic standards in an ever-changing career landscape. Our students are resilient, have a growth mindset and demonstrate interpersonal skills enabling them to be lifelong problem solvers both academically and socially. These 21st century skills help to create a thriving future where students can build career skills that will prepare them to be respectful citizens in a diverse, technologically expanding and ever-changing world. All students will have equal access and rights to participate in a school counseling program that is comprehensive in scope, preventative in design, and developmental in nature. The school counselors collaborate with students, staff, parents and members of the community to facilitate success for all students to ensure that when they are here, and in the future, they are their best!
Glenkirk Elementary School Counseling Program Mission
The Glenkirk Elementary School counseling program promotes the academic, career and social/emotional development of all students by following the ASCA National Model framework. We work collaboratively as trusted partners with our students, staff, families and community members. We maintain an expectation of excellence through our strong commitments of inclusivity and equity in education, ensuring all students have access to a comprehensive school counseling program. Our focus is to motivate, encourage and engage with each other through effective communication. This will help prepare all our students to become successful, resilient and responsible members of the local, national and global communities in the 21st century.
