Dear Parents, 

In the event of a prolonged school closure, your child can access the schools educational websites with their login information located at this website; https://glenkirkes.pwcs.edu/students. This website is a great way to reinforce skills that they have learned as well as keep you updated with the learning material of the class. Additionally, I encourage you to read with your child at least 30 minutes per day. Reading will undoubtedly help your child in the long run and enhance their learning experience. If you have any questions and concerns you can reach me by email kimsu@pwcs.edu. I hope to see you all soon and be safe. 
   

I am sending out different activities for your child to participate this week. I will update my Chart Board every week on my class page or email it to you. Just let me know what works best for you. If you have any questions, please let me know during our “ZOOM” time. This shows you all the objectives learned by students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th  core subjects prior to this break.

Review what is synonym and antonyms (From Super Teacher Worksheets print out)

Assign reading story from Epic, Raz Ki Story on- line and Super Teacher Worksheet. Get ready to share on Monday during “Zoom “ Time

Math

Continue to review Multiplication Facts up to 9’s using flash cards with the teacher during “Zoom time.” Review division facts 2 by 1.

 

 

“Go to Dream Box” and ABCYA continue to work on multiplication and division facts.

1.Locate and label the states of the South West region on the US map. Students will label a map of the South West States,

3. Review all 5 continuents and oceans during zoom time. .

3.What is compass Rose? Discuss with your parents and draw Compass Rose with all directions.

2. Print out Va Map and draw and locate Va Rivers.

 

3. Teacher will send a map skill activity for the students to label .

1.Go to ABCYA and select states and capitals. Practice with parents and record your score and send it to the teacher.

 

 

2. Locate all rivers, 5 regions and boarder states on the map.

 

3. Draw your house activity. Ask your parents “What is a Blue Print? “ With your parents label and locate each part of the house by using a compass Rose.

2. Will review with students during Zoom Time( %region of Va, rivers and border states)

 

3. Will share your drawing during Zoom Time. Be ready.

Dear Parents,

My name is Simmon Kim and your child is enrolled in my class this year. I am looking forward to an exciting year. It is my goal to provide your child with an educationally challenging, yet fun  experience in my classroom. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations. I am asking for your support by checking homework and read 30 minutes with your child everyday. Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communications open with you.
